Born and raised in Spain, Garmenzzi took up the guitar at age 16 and played with numerous pop, rock and blues bands before moving to Los Angeles in 1999.
He received private instruction in Classical and Jazz. His burning desire to explore the rich harmonic universe of stringed instruments led him to delve into all sort of acoustics – baritone/fretless/high-strung/12-string guitar –, MIDI and guitar synthesizers, lap steel guitar, bass, custom made 27-string Harp Guitar and other stringed ethnic instruments like Ronroco, Charango, Mandolin, Portuguese Guitar, Dulcimer, electric Oud, etc.

During recent years, Garmenzzi has served Southern California as an active music vendor. His proficiency in different stringed instruments and styles such as Jazz, Classical, Latin, Pop, Rock and other forms of World music has granted him the opportunity to perform at all kinds of corporate and private events.

His passion for movies also prompted him to embark in several projects as a composer and recording engineer for short films scores and he has recently recorded Portuguese guitar for the featured film “A Date with Miss Fortune”.
Garmenzzi is currently working on a full-length CD where he will explore a variety of musical traditions from around the globe. World music is in his blood and his songcraft. As usual, there is little concern for trying to fit in a particular genre or style. The common thread is the sonic quality of strings and their endless combinations as the basis for creating new music.
Keeping in mind that the only constant element of Life is change, Garmenzzi’s approach is helping preserve traditions by melding them with today’s sensibilities.

He believes that “Music should never be about repertoire, style or technique… what really matters is the message, the story behind, the emotional connection with the listener at some level of the sonic spectrum”.
